Mis-shapened and Weak teeth
When teeth are extensively filled, the remaining tooth structure is weakened. Crowns are used to protect this weak structure and strengthen the entire tooth.
There are a number of different types of crowns available. The benefits of each will be discussed before a decision is made on the type of treatment. For the busy individual, where time is crucial, a single visit CEREC crown may be appropriate.
Mis-shapened or discoloured teeth may also be treated using crowns, veneers or a combination of both. Veneers are porcelain restorations, which are bonded to teeth to change the size, shape or colour of the underlying teeth. In all cases, the treatment options will be discussed prior to treatment.
